The Winnie the Pooh (WTP) room has a team off five staff members.
The outside zones have a large grassed area with a climbing frame surrounded by rubber chips, a wooden play house, large sand pit and vegetable beds. The second zone is a large play deck with a gazebo and discovery table. The last area has a safety surface for playing ball games or riding bikes and scooters.
Throughout the day the children will have the opportunity to work in small groups, family key groups, peer groups and with one-to-one support. A solitary play area is provided for those children who like time to themselves.
We invite other professionals to enrich the experiences the WTPs receive; for example, a fire crew-inspired role play and craft activity using milk cartons for air tanks. Twice a week a Zumbatomic Instructor provides a different way to dance and exercise with music. French speaking group time is offered on Friday mornings.
Off-site trips are arranged in advance in consultation with parents and include simple walks to the park and trips to the local shops/supermarkets where children can learn a variety of experiences. Once a year school leavers and their parents are invited to attend a trip.
